While Liverpool may have been blessed with options in midfield, Brendan Rodgers is not hesitant in bringing another midfielder to Anfield, this time signing Turkish playmaker Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid.
He will sign for Liverpool on loan, in which Mourinho described is the best option for both the club and the player. On his first season for the Spanish champions, his progress was halted by injuries and competition with Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Kaka and Diarra.
Before he signed for Real Madrid in 2011, his stellar performances for Dortmund was rewarded with Bundesliga's Player of the Season for 2010/11. Probably his potential there is the reason Rodgers decides to sign him despite disappointing first season in Spain.
Nuri Sahin is seen as a replacement for Alberto Aquilani, who left for Fiorentina in the summer.
He will still face tough competition in Liverpool squad. Gerrard and Lucas are regarded among the first names on the starting line-up. He will compete with Adam, Henderson and Allen for another center midfield role.
For those who are not familiar with this Turkish lad, let's see what he will bring to Liverpool this season!
